To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. c. Bv. X2677 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst.5/AD8.2.33. ELECTRIC PETROL PUMPS ON BENSPORT The fitting of S.U. electric petrol pumps to the Bensport chassis makes the fitting of some ignition warning device an absolute necessity. If the switch is inadvertently left on a discharge of 10 amperes occurs which would completely discharge the battery in 6 hours, assuming the latter was fully charged, as well as heating abnormally the petrol pump windings. Another point about these petrol pumps is the continual oscillation of the ammeter needle due to their intermittent action. If a voltage regulator as well as an electric petrol pump is fitted, the ammeter will be worse than useless as a readable instrument. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. | ||
