For the attention of Mr.Young.

Dear Sir,

Further to your recent visit and discussion on valve springs which we have now adopted on our 30 HP. and for which we have placed our first order for 1300 springs, we should like a quotation for similar springs but in larger quantities say 1000, 2000, 5000 and 10,000.

We realise that they are good springs but unfortunately the price we are paying you, namely 6/0d. per dozen, hardly justifies us taking work out of the factory, as if we produced them in the same wire ourselves it could be done for the same figure.

There is much more chance of us getting your springs on to our other models if we could show some economy over what we could do ourselves, we hope therefore that you will give this your consideration and let us know your decision and quotation.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
