X8992 Restaurant Octobon., Le-Canadel. Par-Le-Lavandou. (Var) France. 9.3.30/ Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} from Dodd. With regard to radiator jellying. We have only the road just before Hyeres for this test, however, as the road is slightly rough in places, it should be about right for this kind of test. I find that 18-EX suffers also with the jelling complaint, tyre pressures were at 30.lbs per sq ins. It does not jelly the whole of the time at high speed, but has periods, off, and on. It looks much more pronounced with the mascot, than without. We cannot try our wheels at the side, as provision is only made at rear for spares. ________________________ We have been entirely free from brake squeaks this season. As the weather has been very wet and roads therefore bad, this seems to have been a severe test. The falling off of the brake efficiency after a fair amount of high speed work, requiring plenty of braking, was not noticed last year, as it is now in its present form. f.C.Dodd | ||
