ALUMINIUM COVERS FOR REAR BRAKES.

We recommend that the aluminium covers for the rear brakes should be made in one piece and are not detachable. We do not know of any advantage in attempting to make these aluminium covers easily detachable. If it is necessary to adjust the brakes or they have to be inspected, it is always necessary to remove the brake drum. This is a much easier operation than undoing all the fiddling 2.BA bolts. On Goshawk 11. it is impossible to remove these covers because a number of the bolts come at the back of the road spring also another trouble with them is that the bolts which fix the loose pieces which join the two halves together, have no means of preventing them turning round. We strongly recommend that the aluminium covers should be in one piece and should be looked upon as permanent part of the brake bracket.
