BY1/N.7.3.30.

L.H. CHASSIS.

Referring to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}7/E.4.3.30 and Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}19/E.5.3.30, I had not attempted to hold our first L.H. chassis until all the points enumerated in the Specification attached to the above memo, which were discussed at Verreys' were available. The position is as outlined below under three headings.

(1). The points we can include, and which RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} can fit and keep his promise are:-

(a) Hinged filler cap to tank.

(b) Spare wheel carrier at rear to take 7" tyres, just completed this design at Derby.

(c) Radiator with automatically controlled shutters.

(d) Wheels to suit American tyres.

(e) Carburetter exhaust heated.

(f) Exhaust silencer without cut-out.

(g) "Handed" engine.

(h) Steering "Handed".

(i) Starter to suit "Handed" engine.

(j) Dynamo with brushes "Handed".

(2) The proposals I have not included in the first chassis, but are called for in the Specification are:-

(a) No extra lubrication provided for engine at starting. This not yet passed.

(b) Lubrication of clutch automatically from gear box, this has not yet been proved out on our chassis but is on test.

Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}
