Extract from :- X3730 RL/M1.1.24. RL/M1.1.24 - RE. GOSHAWKS. X.4219. WEIGHT. X.4538. X.3730. Considering the size of the engine and the present construction I have been very careful not to agree to additional weight of body which is always on the car reducing its performance and tending to greater wear and risk of breakage. A 20 HP. car of our engine proportions and silence will not carry heavy bodies with credit, and I am sure we should lose more than we gained by doing so. Moreover I feel sure that in the end we should also require to add to the weight of the axles and frame, so this matter should be very carefully dealt with. My own impression is that we should not officially increase the weight of the body without further experience at least. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
