Clutch. Leather cone - clutch sticks in - slips badly, no jaggers, easy to change gears.

BRAKES. Foot brake - band lined with Ferodo, situated rear of gear box - jaggers very badly when pulling up hard.
Hand brake - rear wheels - very smooth in action - good breaking action.

Distance to pull up (with clutch out, brakes hard on.)

Bore 80 m/m 3 5/32". Stroke 140 m/m 5.5"

Valve Lift.
Inlet .318"
Exhaust .314"

Compression.
No. 1 87 lbs. Cu. capacity No.1 10 cu.ins.
No. 3 90 lbs. No. 3 10 cu.ins.

Vacuum in Induction Pipe.
15/16" mercury at 1000 R.P.M. full throttle.

Springing. No shock absorbers - semi elliptic springs, rear and front. Front springs require damping - too bouncy. Length 35.5 ins. centre 1 1/8" cambre - 8 leaves - rolled eye.
Rear springing very fair - would be improved by damping - over-slung - torque taken by springs 47" centre 2.25" cambre - 11 leaves - rolled eye.

Ignition. M.L. Magneto only.

Timing.
Full retard 10° P.T.D.C.
Full advance 10° B.T.D.C.
Order of firing 1, 2, 4, 3
