They are fitted to several Diesel Lorries and a duplex model is fitted to the Gipsy VI aero engine each unit having a capacity of 200 pts. per hour. The S.U. Company have brought out a simple system whereby upper cylinder lubricant is introduced into the engine through the medium of the thermostatically controlled starter carburettor this only operates for a short period when warming up and if there is any benefit to be obtained from upper cylinder lubricants this arrangement certainly enables them to be fed to the engine in fairly large quantities during the warming period when it is most required. This carburettor is now fitted to most of the cars previously fitting the S.U. carburettor. Another point of interest was the use of a rubber flexible bijur pipe to the bottom yoke in the Daimler front suspension and the rear shackles on the Alvis.
