C. to SG{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}; WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} BENSPORT HAND BRAKE LEVER.
We send herewith N. sch. 3589, which shews the hand brake lever for this car.
We have not shewn any means of making the floorboards gastight at the lever, and it may be that it will be necessary to protect the pawl operating rod from contact with the floorboards, by stamping a boss on the lever through which the rid will pass.
The spring operating on the pawl as shewn should prevent rattles by taking up all slacks when the hand brake is off.
