--------

The Rudge-Whitworth Company have now built a further set of 5 Wheels and 4 12-sided Lock Nuts, which Wheels have been ground on the cones after completion. The previous Wheels, you will recollect, were only skimmed on the cones prior to erection.

The Rudge-Whitworth Company are very perturbed indeed at the difficulties we have experienced with their previous sample set, but maintain that the sample set now delivered should obviate all our objections thereto.

Unfortunately there has been some delay on their part, as the only machine they had available was previously the property of Rudge-Whitworth Ball Bearing Plant - which Plant was sold en bloc to Messrs. Cohen, the Scrap dealers, and it took some time to conclude arrangements with the Liquidator for their use of the machine.

They are prepared to supply such Wheels ground after completion, at the figure previously advised, i.e., less than £8. per set, and to commence bulk deliveries at the rate of about 5 sets per week, in 14 days from receipt of instructions, building up to bigger quantities in a reasonable period.

I have no figures yet from the Dunlop Company for their Wheels, and am pressing them again.

ROY. {Sir Henry Royce}

Note: Wheels already passed to Experimental Shop
