Dear Sirs,
For the attention of Mr. West.
We thank you for your letter of the 17th inst, enclosing list giving part numbers of tanks and petrol gauges. We very much regret however, that there are one or two points about which we are not quite clear, which are as follows:
According to our records, Bentley Tank is FB.324 and we have not received a print of FB.683 to which you refer. Secondly the 20/25 HP Tank is, according to our records, to your drawing F.58737, whereas you refer to drawing F.60458 a copy of which we are unable to trace.
In order to enable us to bring our records up to date and to prevent any possibility of confusion we are enclosing herewith a schedule in duplicate, giving your own part numbers together with our code numbers. We should very much appreciate it if you would kindly, check this and return one to us for record.
Owing to the various changes in Tank Units, we have in the schedule classified these into three general types, as follows:
Type A, Bent bracket, bevelled gear, as is at present being supplied. e.g. Y.30761.
Type B. Cast bracket, bevelled gear, warning light contacts, e.g. Y.409..
Type C. Cast bracket, lantern pinion, warning light contacts, new moulding. e.g. Y.42488.
It is of course, understood that type C are not yet in production, whereas a few of type B have been supplied, in order to
TO AVOID DELAY ALL ENVELOPES SHOULD BE ADDRESSED TO THE FIRM
