Dear Mr. Grylls,

Many thanks for yours of the 3rd inst. and I am arranging for the supply of the oil in question to be sent to you straight away. This will be marked for your personal attention and labelled "rear axle oil Test 'A'." Actually, I am letting you have five gallons instead of the two which you asked for, as it is easier from our point of view.

Please do not bother about any official order, as we shall most certainly let you have this quantity free, as it is for test purposes, and in any case, an order at the present time might be an embarrassment! I won't say any more.
