(a) some addition to the oil supply which will operate while the oil is cold, such as extra cylinder lubrication coupled to the mixture lever, as on Phantoms, or the scheme of drilling oil jets in the connecting rod stems pointing towards the thrust side of the cylinder barrels. (b) Automatic control of the mixture to return the control to normal as the engine warms up. In connection with this we have had some schemes under test for some time, with a view to introducing this feature on RR. types of S.U. carburetters.
