TO Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}

c. to BJ & H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints}

FROM PN{Mr Northey}

7-LC.

The Chairman having expressed a wish to use an Open Touring car instead of a closed car on his tour which starts at the end of this month, it is necessary to put aside the proposal that he shall use 11-EX, and it has been decided that he will use 7-LC ex White Riviera Open car.

It has been arranged that this car should leave London for France on the 24th inst. with driver Fleck; consequently any work which has to be done to it must be completed by that time.

Immediately after the Chairman's tour, which will occupy between three and four weeks, the car will be returned to the coachbuilders in order that the body may be done up and be available as quickly as possible for the Inspection Dept., who, as you know, are asked from time to time in connection with their visits, to give demonstrations of the car which may be in use.

Not the last point of importance in connection with this car's use by the Chairman, is that the steering control shall have no undesirable feature, which we all agreed when in France, it then had.

There is no reason why the hydraulic shock-absorbers now fitted should not remain on the car during the tour, although the consideration as to their remaining on the car will be made later on the car's return.
