To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. to Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} X206 Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}15/KW.18.6.36. Bentley Brake Judders. Herewith a figure for the moment of inertia of Bentley front toggle shaft and brake adjuster mechanism about the centre line of shaft, as requested. Experiments are still proceeding to see if we can balance the inertia of the normal toggle shaft and so get rid of judders. Please note that as the centre of rotation lies below the toggle shaft centre at an unknown point, this figure for the Moment of Inertia cannot be of much use to you and we would rather you based the weight of the balancer lever on the figure we shall obtain, if the experiment is successful. | ||
