We are carrying out tests on the latest Firths 12½% thin leaf front springs. With these springs, Messrs. Firths were given a free hand as regards thickness and camber of plates. The results so far shew a very definite improve-ment over any front springs we have previously tested. One spring has run 45 hrs. before the top leaf failed. When the spring was dismantled it was found that the bottom leaf and the fifth from the top were broken. On another spring, the top leaf lasted for 31 hrs. The bottom leaf on this same spring failed at 22½ hrs. Further springs are being tested. These springs give promise of excellent results. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
