To EH. from Oy. c. to By. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X. 2814 Oy2/B12.6.17. X.2814 - RE REMY IGNITION Will you send us a complete set of Remy ignition (excluding accumulators) for Mr. Royce to examine. I believe that you can spare the Remy distributor which was used for the ignition experiments, in fact I intended to bring this distributor with me on my return to St. {Capt. P. R. Strong} Margaret's. I presume that there is a separate coil, and that the coil and distributor comprise the only two parts of the ignition, barring the accumulators. We at present fit the distributor at the front end of the camshaft, but we are proposing to fit the distributor on aeroplane engines of the 2 magneto type, such as the Falcon or the older Eagle. For this purpose the distributor at the front of the camshaft will be nearly always inconvenient when using a tractor screw. Have we a scheme for driving the distributor from the rear of the camshaft? If not, I shall have to get one out. Please send the worm driving gear with the distributor. Oy. | ||
