C O P Y. Dunlop Rubber Co. Ltd, Fort Dunlop, Erdington, Birmingham. Your ref. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}13/KT. Our ref. HEP/LW.241. Messrs Rolls Royce Limited, DERBY‡ Attention of Mr. Robotham. 26th September 1932. Dear Sirs, MA.2 Type Tread Tyres. We thank you for your letter of the 22nd. inst. and would confirm that we would recommend the tyre be fitted in such a manner that the impression of the tread pattern on the road should indicate the arrow on the centre rib, pointing in the direction of travel. We attach for your records our confirming sketch No. DS.4418. In connection with the tyres on Mr. Royce's car, we regret if these have been fitted in the reverse direction, but would assure you that this will have no serious effect on the performance or life of the tyres. If, however, when Mr. Royce is next in Birmingham, he would care to have these reversed we should be very pleased to carry out this work for him. Yours faithfully, FOR THE DUNLOP RUBBER CO. LTD. (Signed H.E.Price). Manager - Car Manfrs. Division. | ||
