IGNITION SECTION CURRENT EXPERIMENTS.

Ballast Resistance.

Volt-ampere characteristic of double ballast.

Coil.

General, temperature and high frequency load tests of special coils as follows :-

Paraffin wax paper coils PWF1/2.
Paraffin wax immersed coils WFI. and PWR.1
No secondary varnish coil NV.1.
Std; coil arranged as suggested by EFC. CW.1.
Examinary tests and dismantling for examination of Remy and U.S.A. coils.

Condensers.

Condenser No.1600 ex chassis 98-NK. for position test.
Paraffin wax paper condensers PWP.

Contact Breaker.

Make ratio speed curve of contact breaker to LeC.2460.
Eclipse tests of contact breaker for sparking at make.

Distributor.

Mushroom type rotor with contact breaker to LeC.2460.

Magnetos.

Latest EW6 Watford magneto No.1006012 with continuous cam ring. Special chassis tests.
Endurance tests of EW6 magneto.
Tests of Lucas magnetos Nos.51 and 54B with wipe and jump spark distributor respectively.
Endurance test of Bosch chassis magneto type FU6.
Watford ROL. magneto timing.
" " demagnetising tests.
Characteristic loop curves of aero and chassis magnetos with 2.5 micromho leak.
BTH. aero magnetos, tests using braided cable and revision of specification.
