W/LH.{Mr Haworth} - Mr. Waller. c. to GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} - Chateauroux. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}21/KW.7.4.36. Easter Holidays. It has been decided that the 15,000 miles test will not be run during the Easter holidays. Will you therefore please return to Derby on Thursday next, with the car. The test will re-commence on Tuesday the 14th inst. With reference to the petrol consumption on this car, we have had a number of cases on production where fitting the air intake bend to the top of the carburetter has caused the casting to become distorted andthe choke to stick in the partially closed position. We wonder whether this can possibly have happened to your car and upset the distribution. Attached is a note and blue print with reference to the third cross member. You will see that they have made an error in fitting the wrong cross member. Will you please carry out the test to check that the cross member does not foul, at the earliest opportunity.
