Dear Barclay,

CHASSIS B.24.AW.

Thank you for your letter of 11th March.

I am interested to hear that you now believe that most of the Experimental Bentleys clock 98 M.P.H., whereas previously you felt that the Bentley V's were not as fast as the Bentley II's.

I have no magic wand which I can give to Hythe Road, but will suggest one or two points they might check over next time your car comes in, with a view to ensuring that it has the very best top performance.

I fear that the car you want is the Corniche, which will go fast enough to frighten you and anybody else who is in it. Unfortunately, you will have to wait until after the war for this particular vintage.

Yours sincerely,
