X4613 Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} from Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} c. C. (for Sales) c. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/EV{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}2/M19.8.30. SCUTTLE ISOLATION EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} has asked us from time to time to give definite recommendations with respect to an improved system of scuttle isolation. We do recollect having received from you at various times recommendations. For instance there was the one recommending the present scheme but with very hard rubber, the one for fitting rubber between the scuttle vertical pillars and the cast dash-pot, and finally there was the suggestion for a continuous rubber strip. Which of these is the one you wish us to recommend. We shall certainly take immediate action to inform our coachbuilders as to what we wish them to do, and if this has not already happened we are sure Sales will arrange to let EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} and JLE.{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager} have copies of any letters containing recommendations to coachbuilders which they may issue. We think the co-ordination in an increased form between the testing and inspection of complete cars and the testing of coachwork is a feature which we could with advantage develop, and we are strongly in favour of your dept. being posted fully up-to-date. Should we meet as already suggested in London, we would like to hear your views on certain points in connection with this. Da{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
