EAC-V11 STEERING.

We are rather concerned with the steering of this car at high speeds. The steering is quite good on a level road, but on a road with mediocre surface, the car has a feeling that it would like to high speed wobble. The wobble does not build up but there is a very small criss cross movement of the axle which starts every time a rough portion of the road is encountered.

We have tried as far as possible to reproduce the geometry of the present C2. series Phantom by alteration to the pendulum lever and side steering tube. This has definitely affected an improvement but we are still not altogether satisfied with the high speed steering of the car. We are therefore making a test in which we are fitting exactly the same springs on this car as on the C2. series and so shall be able to reproduce the geometry which has previously given satisfaction.

We attach a tabulated list which shews where EAC-V11 in its present form, differs from previous cars.
