SpectreCodename for Phantom III Steering.

We have been endeavouring to get a steering for the SpectreCodename for Phantom III similar to that fitted to the Cadillac 16, in order that we may see if we can reproduce their freedom from road shocks. The La{L. A. Archer} Salle steering at present fitted to the SpectreCodename for Phantom III is not so reversible as the Cadillac 16 steering.

As the La{L. A. Archer} Salle steering fitted conveniently into the SpectreCodename for Phantom III, we were trying to get a box on the same lines. We have received the following cable from Olley :-

"TRUK HELIX CADILLAC EIGHT SEVEN FORTY SEVEN LASALLE FIVE FIFTY SEVEN STOP BOTH INSIDE FRAME STOP CADILLAC NOT AS IRREVERSIBLE AS LASALLE HAVE WRITTEN RECOMMENDING REDUCE WHEEL FIGHT BY STABILIZER FRONT INSTEAD OF REAR".

We cannot quite understand Olley's remark that the La{L. A. Archer} Salle steering has a helix angle of 5.57 because we have measured the one we are using and its helix angle is 7½º. We are cabling this information to him, and telling him that if his figure for the La{L. A. Archer} Salle he is proposing to send us is correct it is just what we want.
