Blacq & et Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.) from EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} copy to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} RE LIGHT SALOON FOR 20 HP. You may possibly have heard from "Sales" that they have arranged to purchase a Barkerlite Saloon for a Twenty at a favourable price. The car is to be used by them to test the durability of the body. As it appears to me that this body will be mounted on a standard chassis and remain in the hands of "Sales", I shall be unable to control the design in any way and it is highly probable that the appearance, size etc. will not be acceptable to you. The reason for my mentioning this is that I wish it to be realised that under the circumstances we are unable to have anything to do with this matter. We were rather hoping that we might have been allowed to have this body for mounting on the new India with high compression engine and revised axle ratio, so that the car might have been used at W.W. next year. We presume that as "Sales" have purchased a body you would wish us to drop the idea of having a light saloon for the experimental car for the present. EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} | ||
