OUR REF. CGS/HH

Messrs. ROLLS-ROYCE Ltd.,
DERBY

Dear Sirs,

FOR THE ATTENTION OF MR. ROBOTHAM.

You will remember last year we had some conversations with you in regard to various technical details of our racing engines, and at that time you advised us that if you could at any time give us any information, you would be pleased to consider doing so.

We are rather hesitant to approach you in the matter, but we are at the moment carrying out rather extensive tests and accumulating data in connection with silencing, which, as you are probably aware, is very much to the forefront in connection with motor cycle manufacture at the moment.

We have been rather impressed with the silencing arrangements of the Rolls-Bentley and we wondered if you could give us any information as to how these results are obtained, that would be useful to us in connection with the silencing of our motor cycles.

Any information that you care to give us you could be assured we would regard quite confidentially, as for our own use only.

If you can give us any assistance we should very much appreciate it, on the other hand, if you feel that you would prefer not to give us this information we should quite understand.

We await the favour of your reply, for which we thank you in anticipation.

Yours faithfully,
p.p. NORTON MOTORS LIMITED.
DIRECTOR.
