The experience we have had on the B.60 Cast Iron engine indicates that there is very little need for tappet adjustment for the exhaust valves. In view of this, on Myth, we have made a design PL.360 herewith, showing the adjusting screw and locking nut deleted. The programme will be to make detail drawings with and without the adjustment, but the adjustable type will only be used during the experimental stages when we are determining the correct tappet clearances for silence and variations in timing.
