X5770 PN {Mr Northey} 10/DN26.8.26. TO Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM P.N. Experimental 20 H.P. I have today returned this car to you driven by our man - Garner. My impression of the steering is that it is a very marked improvement indeed from the point of view of absence of road shocks, but I was not able to decide how far this improvement might be credited to the fact that medium pressure tyres are fitted. You, however, tell me that in your opinion, the larger tyres in this case account very little for the improved comfort in steering. I was not able to do much high speed work, but during the amount I did run, I was not able to observe any tendency to wobbles. With regard to hydraulic shock-absorbers, my impression is that there is still altogether too little damping at the rear for speed work with this car. Can this be increased without any incidental difficulties arising? P.N. | ||
