1247 EXPERIMENTAL DEPT. RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies}9/JH. 19th May, 1938. Messrs. Mead Mc.Lean & Co.Ltd., Grand Buildings, Trafalgar Square, LONDON.W.C.2. Dear Sirs, We have received the second set of ventilators safely, also the diffuses strips. With regard to wind noise, we have not been very successful, unless we have a deflecting strip fitted to the windscreen pillar which entirely covers the leading edge of the glass, wind noise is unbearable. We have tried with a 1/8" gap as suggested by Mr. Kelly but we still get too much noise. We should be very interested to hear your views on the matter, and if possible we should like to demonstrate further to Mr. Kelly, early next week would be convenient, and if this agrees with your arrangements, would you kindly let the writer know. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
