Re: Phantom III Tappets - Chassis 3-AZ-55.

We are sending you nine tappets taken out of the above chassis, will you please replace these.
This case was fully investigated to try and find the cause. The tappets were free in the guides.
The tappet filter was in a dirty condition.
The regulating screws for oil supply to hydraulic plungers were free from carbon.
The hydraulic plungers were free fron carbon.
The measurements of the plungers relative to the plunger bores found them to vary from .0075" clearance to .0015.
This would indicate that the plunger clearance was at fault. Cold starts would cause a heavy drag on the tappet faces.
