Dear "Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}",

"Sr" left early this morning with the Chateauroux Bentley. He asked me to let you know that yesterday he met Paulin up at Vanvooren, but Paulin was sitting on a chassis looking decidedly ill. There was no time for hesitation, we took him along to our Doctor (Dr. Galop) and yesterday afternoon he had a very serious operation for appendicitis. In fact, Galop stated that if he had not operated at once Paulin would not have survived the day !

We are pleased to say that the news from the Clinique this morning is that he passed as a good night as could be expected. "Sr" wishes to assure you that we are doing everything possible for Paulin and suggests that you and "By" write him a little letter impressing upon him the fact that he must not worry about his job for the time being, that his first duty for the Company is to get well over so as to ultimately gain time.

Sr's words were that he considered Paulin was dieing on his job.

I hope to send you one or two photos of the Montlhery run shortly.

Yours ever sincerely,
