This car is being reconditioned for resale. Whilst on test with it, beforehand, we noticed a slackness and lumpiness in the steering. Upon dismantling the latter, we found one of the cones to have collapsed, whereupon, we renewed the roller, cones and the cages. As requested in your memo - Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}11/MH.{M. Huckerby}3-4-39, we are arranging to return these parts to Derby for your inspection. No doubt BP will hand them over immediately upon receipt. The mileage is 9, 498.
