PN.{Mr Northey} and I have tried this new exhaust on closed cars and consider it is passable as it can only be heard to any extent in the front driving seat, usually occupied by the chauffeurs, and then it cannot be heard nearly as badly as on an Open Touring Car.

The exhaust cut-out, when open, makes an entirely new and very objectionable noise, quite unlike the low booming noise that the old exhaust cut-out had. It is hoped that this can also be cured at the same time.
