-3- Contd. DO NOT LEAVE THE BATTERY UNCHARGED BECAUSE IT WILL RAPIDLY DETERIORATE, BUT IF RUN DOWN, GET IT WELL RECHARGED EVEN IF IT IS NECESSARY TO REMOVE IT FROM THE CAR. BE CAREFUL NOT TO LEAVE ANY SWITCH "ON", ESPECIALLY THE IGNITION SWITCH. DO NOT LET THE DYNAMO BELT GET SO SLACK THAT VERY LITTLE CHARGE IS OBTAINED. WHENEVER CONVENIENT, WASH THE BATTERY DOWN WITH WATER TO REMOVE THE ACID, AND LET IT DRY BEFORE PUTTING IT BACK IN THE OUTER CASE. THIS IS ESPECIALLY VALUABLE AFTER RE-CHARGING OR RE-FILLING. IT WILL REDUCE THE LEAKAGE OF THE CHARGE. IF IT IS FOUND TO BE DIFFICULT TO MAINTAIN THE BATTERY IN A WELL CHARGED CONDITION? WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT A SMALL CURRENT OF ABOUT ONE AMPERE BE ALLOWED TO RUN THROUGH IT IN A CHARGING DIRECTION WHILE STANDING IN THE GARAGE. THIS CAN BE DONE VIA THE INSPECTION CONNECTION SOCKET FOR THE LAMP. | ||
