(2) BEVEL GEARX'/308

Referring to the bevel gear of the back axle, this was intended as soon as possible, to be cut in the curved form by the Gleason machine, resulting in an approximately spiral gear. This is an important feature which should be included as soon as convenient.

Mr. Wormald will decide this as we expect it will be necessary for us to obtain machihnes of our own, and not be dependent upon sending the wheels out to be cut.

It will have such wonderful effect on reducing the un-even turning due to the excessive curvature of the teeth which was found necessary to obtain quiet gears.
