CHASSIS FLOORBOARDS. Herewith we send N.sch.3117 shewing the scheme for the floorboards, including the method of making the central levers gastight. We thank you for your drawing of the Bosch switch for operating the central light. On investigation we find that it fouls the vertical scuttle rail as shewn, and also comes rather close to the rib on the dashboard. We suggest, and we should like, Oy. to consider whether it could not come lower down, and further out of the floorboards, as indicated in this drawing. It will be noticed that in doing this we save the dash bracket which we think is seriously weakened in your scheme. It would be possible, however, to improve the latter by substituting a pot for the plain bent strip. Would By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} in detailing set out the dimensions on the gearbox as we are not quite sure of some of them. Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
