{We suggest that the bracket "see pars. 16 and 17" be omitted because in the re-arrangement, charging in position on the car is covered in our own matter. For your information we are sending you additional sheets giving you in full the paragraphs more immediately concerning the battery which are included in our own Chapter III.}

"It is important that the battery be kept fully charged, but not overcharged at a high rate of current, as this may cause the temperature limit of 100°F.{Mr Friese} to be exceeded, and the cells may suffer due to evaporation from the electrolyte and by disintegration of the plates."

{This is a paragraph relating to battery only taken from our present Chapter IV, which, as referred to in our letter will now be non-existent.}

"Too much charging, ......... being required".

{In regard to the remainder of your par(15) from "If the car ............ on the battery" our present suggestion includes the deletion of this from your pamphlet as it deals with the battery in relation to the system and is entirely included in our own matter.}

(16) Care under running conditions.

"The top of the battery should always be kept clean and, as far as possible, dry: attention should be given immediately to the least sign of corrosion occurring on the terminals.

Keep the terminals and connections well vaselined, clean on their surfaces in contact and firmly screwed up, but do not use abrasives for cleaning, i.e. file, emery paper, sand paper.
