The performance of Bijur electrical units, detailing success with the starter motor but consistent failure of voltage regulators.

Bailey - Chief Engineer} X.3231. X.3560. X.3587. BIJUR ELECTRICAL UNITS. The Bijur electrical units which were fitted to 4 EX car when it was in America, have now completed 17,300 miles in England. We have had no trouble whatsoever with the Starter Motor. As previously reported, it turns the engine faster than our own motor. It has not been necessary to touch the brushes or any part of the machine. The Bijur generator has not given any trouble in any way, either with commutator or brushes. We have, however, had consistent trouble with the voltage regulators. During the miles run, we have had altogether 4 different voltage regulator units fitted and all of them have failed. At the present time, as we have no further spare regulators, we have removed the Bijur generator. HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
