RE SPECIAL COMPRESSION & GEAR RATIO TESTS. X.4256, X.4299, X.4219, X.4263

With reference to your BJ8/H4.2.22., I have already discussed with Mr. Hives the proposition put forward by you and he is arranging a programme to include tests with open and closed cars with various gear ratios and compressions, and he will also arrange for the open car to be tested by you with a high and a low compression engine, in each case the car to be fitted with a 14-tooth axle, so that you can form an opinion with regard to vibration.

With regard to the Goshawk, It has now been definitely arranged for this car to be with Mr. Royce on Wednesday, the 8th. inst so that I am afraid there will be no time before that date for you to try it, but Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} is arranging for this car to be left at Sales Dept. after visiting Mr. Royce, for a few days, so that it can be tried by the various representatives at Sales Dept. and also other important Sales people who are in touch with customers' requirements such as our Agents, i.e. Mr. Vanghan harborne of the Midland Counties Motor Garage, Mr. Watson etc.

These tests and opinions are an important matter and we are anxious to receive them as soon as ever possible.
