Tests on a stabilizing bumper bar for the Bentley.

We thought that when we fitted centrally mounted wings and radiator on the Bentley we should still have to fit a stabilising bumper bar in order to reduce frame movement and give the body an easier time. Tests carried out so far on 6-B-IV, which has an ordinary composite body, indicate that a stabilising bumper bar will not be necessary. If we fit it, it will be no good, Having once standardised the front bumper bar it will probably be doubtful policy to refrain from supplying one as standard in the future. This test, however, indicates that we can supply a lighter and cheaper bumper bar when the 6-B-IV scheme is standardised.
