SMALL CAR REPRESENTATIVE OF PEREGRINE.

It was agreed some time ago that we should look around to see whether we could recommend the purchase of a small car in the Peregrine class.

After trying a number of cars we consider the small Fiat is the most interesting. Attached herewith is Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}'s. report on this car. Before the depreciation of the sterling the chassis price of this car after paying 33 1/3% duty, was £245. fitted with a saloon body the price of the car was £335. With the depreciation of sterling it is now £375.

We have a fear that the 'Peregrine' will be hopeless as regards price. Unless there is a considerable alteration in our prices it would appear that our material charges will be as high as the factory price for the small Fiat.

We recommend that we buy a Fiat and if it has obvious faults like the springing, we should alter it to suit our ideas. The question of materials and also manufacturing costs could also be examined.
