Tyres for P.III.

Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}17/E7.10.35

Referring to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}2/E4.10.35 and the penultimate paragraph, the car in London has been run about 500 miles over the week-end.

There appears to be a little improvement in the tyre noise but it is still far from good.

I think we must, therefore, immediately tackle the question of trying every other type of foreign- or British-manufactured tyre the tread of which we think is likely to be silent.

I have in mind that you have already tried the Goodyear or Goodrich when Hancock first took the P.III to France so that you presumably know whether this is better or worse than the India from the point of view of noise.

We remember that the quietest tyres we really ever had were ones with the circumferential ribs with no cross cuts at all. Do you know if any one makes a tyre like this to-day?
