To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} x3609 NOT SENT OUT 71.H. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/FJH.{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}19/KW. 28.9.34. Servo Lining Experiments. We have tried some cast-iron servo linings on our test rig and find that in their present form they "pick-up" and score very badly after about one minute's running. We therefore wish to try the effect of putting grooves in the rubbing faces to collect the dust that is worn off the lining. Will you please modify to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1533 the 6 linings which we hand to you herewith. Three of these 6 are in I.C.249 and three in I.C.212A. We require that 2 of the linings in each material should have left-hand grooving; the remaining one to be right-hand. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/F.J.Hardy. | ||
