SULPHATION OR HARDENING OF THE BATTERY PLATES

A generator on a pleasure car delivers about 6 1/2 volts to a clean battery with clean cables and connections. When you have the presence of corrosion on the battery posts, cables or connections a resistance is built up by the corrosion and your battery in truth endeavors to send a charge to the generator cutting down the charge to the battery to about 5 1/2 volts. This resistance causes sulphation or hardening of the battery plates and takes months from the life and service of your battery. It is true that this hardness can be taken out of the plates by putting your battery on a charger and bringing it up to a specific gravity between 1250 and 1300. However it is a known but regrettable fact that the damage has been done to the plates which is beyond repair.

-- GUARANTEE --
Non-Corrosive Washers are guaranteed to eliminate battery corrosion when installed according to our instructions and will give complete and lasting satisfaction. Our records indicate that our Non-Corrosive Washers will last one year or longer installed on any battery.

-- CAUTION --
Wash your battery posts, cables and connections free of all existing corrosion with water. If a solution of soda and water or ammonia and water is used, this must be washed off with water as either solution readily causes corrosion when in contact with the battery cables or connections.

Place the cable connections firmly on the Non-Corrosive Washers but do not drive them on to them to squeeze the chemicals out or to spread the felts away from the battery posts. Your good judgment will show you the advisability of following these instructions in installing our product.
