ENGINE POWERS.

We have been able to obtain a maximum of 180 HP. from a P.II. engine using camshafts with R.{Sir Henry Royce} engine cams, low depression carburetter and open exhaust. Really the position is that on the 25 HP. we have at the moment a satisfactory camshaft to give us the power, but we require an improved carburetter and induction system, and exhaust system. In any case, on the Phantom we have the twin carburetters, but for that engine we have no satisfactory camshaft. The recent test shows that there are no serious constructional alterations required such as gas passages, valve sizes, in order to obtain substantial power increase at high speeds.
