1114 TELEGRAMS & CABLES HUMBER, COVENTRY TELEPHONE :- 5544 BY APPOINTMENT TO THE LATE KING GEORGE V.{VIENNA} CYCLE MANUFACTURERS HUMBER LIMITED COVENTRY LONDON SERVICE STATION EDGWARE ROAD CRICKLEWOOD, N.W.2 IN REPLY KINDLY QUOTE : AGB/EN 31st July 1940 W.A. Robotham Esq., Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. Dear Mr.Robotham, Many thanks for your letter of the 27th inst. received today, and for the interesting photographs and calatogue illustrations which accompanied same. I am glad to say that without any prompting from us the suppliers with whom we were in negotiation for the soldered type tube block told us of the possibility of trouble being experienced due to alternating pressure and vibration without reference to your experience of this Cooler. We have abandoned the idea of using this Cooler in the particular application we had under consideration but are contacting with Wilmot-Breeden to see if an alternative can be obtained. In the meantime we are conducting experiments with a Still tube radiator which, although relatively inefficient, gives us results which are satisfactory but with considerably more material in the system. | ||
