re Flywheels.

We have already issued to you PL.109 giving the light and heavy type flywheels for the B.60 engine fitted with a Lucas Starter motor.

At the request of Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/NRC.{N. R. Chandler} we wish you to modify the detail of the light flywheel because although the inertia may be adequate we fear that the rim may be so thin as to run the risk of accidental damage.

We wish to maintain the outside diameter of 14.500 but to reduce the inner from 14.150 to 14.050.

The moment of inertia of the flywheel itself then becomes 629 lb.in.sq. and its weight 13.8 lbs.

We wish to confirm our pencil note to you of yesterday that Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} requests that all R.R. cars of either 6 or 8 cylinders should have the heavier type of flywheel as instructed on PL.109 and PL.110.
