Contd. -2- EFC6/T30.9.27. If various control brush settings are proposed according to season, the machine ought to be tested out under all conditions, as with the large output obtainable with 117°, there may be over-heating trouble. Apparently these machines have only been run a few months so far. With reference to the cutout, apparently there is no sliding action arranged for the contact points. Here again we suggest the D.O. here should give particulars of our latest standardised scheme of cutout action.+ It appears that the points are intended to come together flat. This may be O.K. (especially for dealing with the large current on the 6-volt system) if they can be guaranteed to be in perfect alignment. The points are riveted and not soldered in addition; we have adopted soldering at Derby owing to the difficulty of being certain of good contact without. The prints are being passed on to the D.O. who may possibly hiffer some criticisms on points of design. + giving very good point results. EFC. | ||
