X.4228 - RE GOSHAWK 11. CARBURETTER.

We send herewith drawing No.LeC.1448 giving particulars of the larger floatchamber which we shall use for Goshawk 11 carburetter. The quantities for this have been worked out, and are given on the drawing.

LeC.1448 also shews the petrol strainer revised to suit the larger floatchamber.

In view of Mr. Hives' report concerning the difficulty of making a Joint, it is intended that the cover of the strainer shall have a ground joint with a flat face. The objection Mr. Royce has to the curved faces shewn on the model brought by Mr. Hives to West WitteringHenry Royce's home town is that when these are once out of order they are difficult to get right.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
