(d) It is almost impossible to get enough lateral strength to be absolutely safe in case of skids on a big car. On a thing like the Opel it is probably all right. We still have no spring breakage, no breakage of front end links or shock absorbers (on Cadillacs with steel stirrup holding shocks) one or two cases of front end of wishbone pulling out of the sooty little tin tea tray in collisions, & one or two broken front shocks in collisions on La{L. A. Archer} Salle (horizontal shock without stirrup). We shall mount our inner wishbone pins on rubber to reduce noise as soon as we can arrange it. Yours ever Maurice Olley | ||
